Eden has perfected the art of not looking. When the doorbell won’t stop ringing, the world she’s been ignoring arrives at her peephole.
Eden is twenty-five, working from home, behind on her deadlines and glued to her screens. Outside her flat, the city is in revolt: protests, sirens, unrest. Inside, she scrolls past it.
Shot entirely from the perspective of the devices that surround her, Eyes Wide shows Eden only as her phone, laptop and camera see her. The outside world reaches her as fragments filtered through social media, while the sounds of protest seep through the walls.
When the doorbell begins ringing and won’t stop, the distance between her digital life and the world beyond her front door suddenly collapses.
A politically charged short film about mediated reality, digital isolation, and what happens when the world you’ve been scrolling past finally demands your attention.
